Welcome back to school and welcome to the English IV blog!

Welcome to the HPS English IV blog for the 2013-2014 school year!  A goal of this course is for students to be critical members of the online world.   To do this, the class will create a blog.  The blog is intended to be a forum to not only share their thoughts about issues brought up in class, but also to reflect on their own views about society and life in general as they prepare to enter college.  Students will be expected to be regular contributors to the blog.  Students will also subscribe to at least one online blog.  This blog can fit into one of four categories:  a career they are interested in, college readiness, a social issue that is important to them, or a news blog.  Throughout the year, they will journal about the blog and evaluate it based on its possible biases and strengths and weaknesses.  School starts August 14!
